Senior UI Designer – E-commerce Focus

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior UI Designer with UX Expertise and strong visual design background to join our Experience Design team. This role is ideal for someone who excels at crafting high-quality, visually compelling interfaces and has extensive experience in e-commerce design, Figma, and design systems. You will report to the Head of Experience Design, and collaborate closely with our Experience Consulting team to create exceptional digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Visual and UI Design Excellence:

  • Design pixel-perfect, visually striking user interfaces that elevate the user experience.
  • Maintain a strong focus on aesthetics, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Ensure consistency across projects by contributing to and refining design systems.
  • Develop engaging and scalable UI solutions tailored to e-commerce experiences.

UX & User-Centered Design

  • Create intuitive and seamless user flows that enhance the overall shopping experience.
  • Conduct usability testing and iterate based on user feedback to improve designs.
  • Optimize e-commerce interfaces for conversion, engagement, and retention.
  • Ensure designs align with user research insights and client business objectives.

Prototyping & Interaction Design

  • Build and refine interactive prototypes in Figma to communicate design concepts.
  • Ensure smooth interaction patterns and micro-interactions that enhance usability.

E-commerce & Design Systems

  • Apply expertise in e-commerce UI/UX best practices to optimize user flows, product pages, and checkout experiences.
  • Work with complex design systems (e.g., Alokai Storefront UI 2.5+, Material UI, or similar).
  • Ensure that designs adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG) and are responsive across devices.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with UX designers, developers, and stakeholders to bring design visions to life.
  • Confidently present design concepts and rationale to clients and team members.
  • Iterate on designs based on user testing, data insights, and client feedback.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design with strong visual skills.
  • Your portfolio should showcase exceptional visual design across digital platforms and a proven track record in designing e-commerce interfaces that drive engagement and conversions.
  • Advanced Figma skills, including components, variables, auto layout, and prototyping.
  • Experience with design systems, UI principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and UX optimization.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS is a plus.
  • Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG standards).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively.
  • Fluency in English and Swedish is required; Norwegian is a plus.
