Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Roku development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Roku’s BrightScript, SceneGraph, and UI/UX design, ensuring high-quality, user-friendly streaming applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Roku applications that deliver seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Roku applications using BrightScript and SceneGraph.
• Implement intuitive and visually appealing UI/UX experiences for Roku applications.
• Optimize performance and memory management for smooth application performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and backend developers to enhance user experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring robust and scalable Roku applications.
• Stay updated with Roku’s latest SDKs, APIs, and industry trends to enhance application development.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure best practices in development.
• Work with streaming technologies like HLS, DASH, DRM, and media playback optimizations.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years in Roku application development.
• Strong proficiency in BrightScript and SceneGraph.
• Experience in building and optimizing custom UI components for Roku applications.
• Deep understanding of Roku SDK, RAF (Roku Advertising Framework), and Roku Certification Guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party integrations.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in Roku applications.
• Experience with performance optimization, caching, and memory management on Roku devices.
• Knowledge of media streaming protocols (HLS, DASH) and DRM solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multiplatform OTT app development (e.g., Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV).
• Knowledge of video analytics, A/B testing, and analytics integrations.
• Exposure to unit testing and CI/CD pipelines for Roku applications.
• Strong design sensibility with a passion for UI/UX improvements.
