Front-end Engineer - React

Overview

Front-end engineers working on Mastercard's Enterprise Open Banking platform play a key role in the development and maintenance of the products that secure high-quality connectivity to banks across Europe that is frictionless, safe, and secure. Building on the strong foundation of our state-of-the-art bank connectivity APIs, the engineers create low-touch solutions that take the burden of handling customer onboarding and verification, account information services, and payment initiation from customers that want to spend their efforts building great products that leverage the full potential of the Open Banking standard.

Role

Our engineers work at the bleeding edge of account information and payment initiation technologies, often solving problems that are yet to be tackled within the industry in areas of API security, data accessibility, processing, and analysis. You will be joining a group of highly skilled individuals working together as a team to push the limits of what is possible to achieve with open banking.

You will have many colleagues around different countries, with your nearest peers being located primarily in Poland, Denmark and Ireland.

Requirements

• Skilled in developing scalable, high-performance React applications with TypeScript.
• Proficient in managing complex state using Redux, Context API, or custom solutions.
• Highly capable of designing and implementing performant React components by leveraging advanced data structures like trees, graphs, and arrays. This ensures optimized rendering and efficient state handling, with TypeScript providing type safety and correctness.
• Solid understanding of front-end security vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF, CORS) and best practices to mitigate them.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
• Experience working closely with designers to ensure the best user experience.
  
  
  

Nice to have

• Understanding of back-end software development (our systems are built in C#, using ASP.NET Core)
• Knowledge of WCAG standards (2.1 AA and forward).
• Experience with provisioning infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) is a plus.
• Interest in computer security (Certificates, HTTPS) is a plus.
• Prior experience in closely regulated industries (financial, medical, etc.) or areas that deal with handling personal information is welcome but not required.
  
  
  

Beyond that, it is expected that you have experience building software using modern development standards, meaning it should not come as a surprise that we utilize all the tools at our disposal from standard ticketing systems (Azure DevOps / Jira), VCS, test automation, to CI/CD pipelines.
