We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Engineer to join our team as a Founding Engineer. This role is a contract position for the first month with the potential for full-time employment based on performance and alignment with the team’s goals. As a founding engineer, you will play a crucial role in increasing product velocity and helping us build the foundation for a scalable, innovative product.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to design, implement, and scale backend services.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and integrate with databases.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code to build backend systems.
• Work on AI-based projects and ensure the backend aligns with AI product requirements.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and help shape the technical direction of the product.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience building AI-related projects/products and understanding how RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) works.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to product velocity.
  
  

Nice To Have

• Full-stack development experience (familiarity with both frontend and backend).
• Experience working with Bland, Vapi, or Elevenlabs.
• Familiarity with Supabase for database management.
• Experience with Railway (backend hosting) and Vercel (frontend hosting).
  
  

Hiring Process

• This role will start as a contract for the first month. Based on performance, we will assess whether to bring you on as a full-time member of the core team.
