We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of AI-based Recommender Systems. We work on AI-based vehicle functions for the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA). We are developing proof-of-concepts for context detection based on VLMs, LLMs and computer vision, which includes data analysis, model development and deployment in a prototype. As a part of our international team, you would support the conception and realization of novel AI solution modules that make innovative digital customer functions, experienceable and enjoyable.

What awaits you?

• Development of machine learning models – especially vision language models - based on the state-of-the-art technology.
• Exploration of visual data to investigate in-car interaction.
• Development on the prototyping pipeline to make the models experienceable in cars.
• Prototyping and evaluating ML models for our in-car interaction system.
• Exciting and changing challenges in an agile environment requiring creative solutions from you.
  
  
  

What should you bring along?

• Master's student in Computer Science, Electrical/Information Technology, Robotics or a comparable course of study.
• You have experience in the area of machine learning, particularly with VLMs/LLMs and computer vision.
• Highly skilled in Python, Pytorch/Tensorflow and the use of Amazon Web Services.
• You know how to use Linux and Windows systems.
• Business-fluent English. German skills are an advantage.
