Job Description
Qantas Group Procurement is seeking a dynamic Portfolio Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement strategies that align with business & commercial objectives. You will lead negotiations with suppliers, ensuring that our contractual arrangements deliver significant commercial benefits to the Qantas Group. As the subject matter expert, you will provide vital commercial advice to support key strategic projects across the Technology & Digital services portfolio.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will be working closely with senior stakeholders, C-Suite and Executive Managers to understand relevant needs and objectives across the Qantas Group businesses. You are an experienced procurement professional who can think strategically and have a track record of creating and delivering value within a large, complex, multinational business. You will think innovatively, have deep knowledge of procurement processes to challenge the status quo. As a leader, you will also provide coaching and mentoring to your team, fostering their growth and ensuring they deliver top-tier performance. You’ll have –
- 10+ years’ experience working in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement or commercial roles within large multi-national organisations, preferably within the technology sector.
- Experience in procurement category management & leading large-scale sourcing activities and complex negotiations
- A skilled negotiator who can secure favourable outcomes while maintaining strong, positive relationships.
- A passion for a forward-thinking approach always looking for ways to innovate and optimise.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability in running cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment.
- High level of commercial acumen, with exceptional negotiation skills and extensive experience in engaging with suppliers
- Demonstrated the ability to influence and convince stakeholders, build effective business relationships with senior stakeholders
- Significant experience managing complex workloads and competing priorities, particularly in procurement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
