Head of Inflight Operations - Catering

Norse Atlantic Airways is an airline that offers affordable fares on long-haul flights, primarily between Europe and the United States. The company was founded by CEO and major shareholder Bjørn Tore Larsen in March 2021. Norse has a fleet of 15 modern, fuel-efficient and more environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliners that serve destinations including New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Cape Town, Bangkok, Oslo, Athens, London, Berlin, Rome and Paris. The company's first flight took off from Oslo to New York on June 14, 2022.

We are looking for a skilled Head of Inflight Operations - Catering who is responsible for the overall development and management of our inflight product (food and beverage, inflight retail and duty free) and will be the main point of contact between Norse and our suppliers.

This is a multi-faceted role that covers vendor management, commercial and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

As the Head of Inflight Operations - Catering you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the Commercial Department to implement strategic objectives
• Inflight product management and development, including working with suppliers and other stakeholders on menu changes, product mix, packaging design, and training for crew on infight products, sales and service delivery.
• Ongoing vendor management of suppliers, including ongoing contract and relationship management (inc. monitoring KPIs, conducting formal business reviews, performance management and management of day-to-day activity etc)
• Catering and Retail budgets, cost control, invoicing approvals, ordering and reporting
• Management of catering and service equipment, including stock control, and maintenance management.
• Managing product performance, including identifying new opportunities, to maximise revenue streams
• Regulatory compliance, station audits and operational oversight checks
• Collaborating with Inflight and crew management to develop sales training, product awareness for crew upskilling
  
  

Key Skills And Attributes

Who you are:

• Relevant experience, preferably including airline catering, product development or airline customer proposition
• Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills - a self-starter who sees things to completion
• Ability to travel at short notice
• Significant experience in vendor relationship management
  
  

Preffered Qualifications

• 5+ years track record as a manager in airline catering, with preferably previous experience of both airline and catering supplier
• Have energy and drive to deliver beyond expectations and effectively balance priorities and always looking for ideas and opportunities to improve our service and operations
• Advanced Microsoft office tool skills (excel, word)
• Passion and motivation for delivering high levels of safety and service standards. Knowledge of current food safety legislation is desirable.
