Senior Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) BI Developer

VAM Systems is currently looking for Senior Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) BI Developer for our UAE operations with the following skillsets & terms and conditions:

1. Educational Background

•            Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as:

o           Computer Science

o           Information Technology

o           Data Analytics

o           Business Intelligence

o           Data Science or a related discipline

2.Certifications (Optional but Beneficial)

·      Oracle Analytics Cloud 2022 Professional

·      Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate

·      Oracle Data Integration and ETL Tools Certification

·      Certifications in data visualization or data storytelling (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for complementary skills.

3. Experience Requirements

5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle BI solutions, including OAS or OBIEE.

Experience in:

o  End-to-end BI solution development.

o  Migrating from Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to Oracle Analytics Server (OAS).

o  Integrating OAS with external systems (e.g., APIs, Excel, or third-party BI tools).

4. Technical Expertise

Core Expertise in Oracle Analytics Server (OAS):

o  Proficiency in building interactive dashboards, pixel-perfect reports, and narrative visualizations using OAS.

o  Strong understanding of the Oracle BI Repository (RPD):

o  Physical Layer

o  Business Model and Mapping (BMM) Layer

o  Presentation Layer

o  Experience in configuring row-level and column-level security and implementing user/role-based access controls in OAS.

o  Mastery of Oracle BI Publisher for creating formatted reports.

o  Expertise in using Data Visualizations and custom features like map-based visualizations and geo-spatial analytics.

Database Skills:

·       Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for data manipulation and querying.

·       Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, including:

o  Query optimization

o  Indexing and partitioning

o  Working with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW)

·       Familiarity with other databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.

Data Warehousing and BI Concepts:

·       Strong understanding of:

o  Dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema)

o  Fact tables, dimension tables, and aggregates

o  ETL processes for loading and transforming data

·      Experience with data warehousing tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or other ETL tools.

              Performance Tuning and Optimization:

·       Ability to troubleshoot and optimize the performance of:

o  Dashboards

o  Reports

o  Queries and data models

·       Experience with caching strategies, materialized views, and aggregate tables to improve report performance.

             Cloud and Big Data Knowledge (Optional):

·       Familiarity with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) for hybrid or cloud deployments.

·       Knowledge of integrating OAS with Big Data environments (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

·       Understanding of cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure.

 Additional Skills

·       Scripting and Customization:

o  Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and XML for customizing OAS dashboards and reports.

o  Experience with scripting tools (e.g., Python or Bash) for automation and integration tasks.

·       Big Data and Advanced Analytics:

o  Knowledge of integrating machine learning models or advanced analytics features into OAS reports.

·       Security and Compliance:

Expertise in configuring Single Sign-On (SSO), SSL, and ensuring compliance with data security standards like GDPR or HIPAA.

 Soft Skills and Leadership

·       Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and gather business requirements effectively.

·       Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex technical issues.

·       Project Management: Experience managing BI projects, setting priorities, and delivering solutions on time.

·       Team Leadership: Ability to mentor junior developers and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

·       Client Relationship Management: Skilled in managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring alignment with business goals.
