About The Role

You will be working in the trading platform team which has a focus on low latency trading systems used across trading teams. The high-level business objectives are to add trading capabilities, improve automation and time to delivery, and scale to new trading trading teams and exchanges.

This is a broad role within the team, developing and supporting the current initiatives and refactoring and re-architecting the platform to be ready for future initiatives. You will work closely with the traders to provide support and coordinate changes in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

All systems need to be fast and ultra-reliable as they run continuously.

Your Mission at Life Trading

Development:

• Enhance and refine the trading capabilities and system architecture
• Benchmark the trading platform and work on optimising it.
• Implement and improve test automation and scenarios, and ensure high-quality releases and quick time to market.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure continuous smooth operation.
• Use and understand the trading user interface, making small changes along the way
• Support and enhance direct market links.
  
  
  

Analysis & Support:

• Analyse system latency and trading performance.
• Support back-testing, replay, and simulation functions.
• Communicate software releases and changes to trading teams.
• Provide ongoing production support.
  
  
  

Other:

• Adhere to company values, rules, and policies.
• Take on additional tasks as required.
  
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in C++ (preferably C++20) for building high-performance systems.
• Proven ability to support production systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Trading industry experience, or demonstrated knowledge of the industry.
