About The Project And Product

Our customer is a leading quality public transport provider in the UK. Around 4 million customers a day trust our greener, smarter and better value bus services - and we are continuing to grow. Managing about 25,000 employees and 10,000 buses show the pure scale of the company.

New ideas and new ways of delivering transport are what set as apart from other competitors. Focusing on innovation is helping make buses more efficient, easier to use and more attractive to customers.

Daily Responsibilities

What you can expect from the role:

• You will be collaborating with our team to design and develop applications for our Android platform.
• You will be constantly analyzing and revising preexisting code for bug fixes.
• You will have to troubleshoot issues and coordinate issue resolution with operational and technical teams.
• You will be evaluating the app architecture to improve overall functionality and user experience.
• You will have to stay up to date with the newest technologies and security measures to keep our Android applications at the latest standard.
• You will be sharing feedback and brainstorming ideas with teams to develop and introduce new features.

Basic Expectations

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Java, Javascript, and Kotlin
• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and other various tools
• Experience developing and publishing Android applications on the Google Play Store
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services integration
• An understanding of mobile UI and UX principles and design patterns
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git
• Solid understanding of software development principles, including agile methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)
