About The Role

As a Senior PHP Developer, you will report to the Lead PHP Developer and play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and supporting our digital products in alignment with our business and technology objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality, well-tested code across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure all code meets high standards through rigorous testing and code reviews.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices, contributing to the evolution of our products and user experiences.
  • Play an active role in mentoring and coaching other developers, including line management responsibilities.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new developers.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with PHP 7/8 and frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel.
  • Proficiency in RESTful API development and consumption.
  • Experience with unit testing using mocks and dependency injection (e.g., PHPUnit).
  • Solid understanding of SOLID principles and common design patterns.
  • Strong experience with MySQL and database migration strategies.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization.
  • Excellent mentoring and leadership skills.
  • Experience with CMS plugin and theme development (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with the API Platform framework.
  • Experience with MongoDB.
  • Debugging expertise using XDebug.
  • Understanding of BDD, TDD, and DDD methodologies.
