About The Role
We are looking for current students to join us this summer as a Product Design Intern for 12 weeks beginning Summer 2025!
During your Summer internship with us, you will be embedded within a highly collaborative and cohesive team. We're looking for an intern who has a curiosity about prioritizing multiple high-touch projects without losing sight of the individual nuances of each aspect of the task at hand! As a Product Designer, you'll solve hard and sophisticated problems that often span across the Uber marketplace.
As part of the Product Design team, you'll collaborate with a number of cross-functional collaborators, including Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Designers, and UX Researchers. And you'll play an integral role in crystallizing project vision and strategy, helping define what we're crafting and why.
What You'll Do
As part of the Consumer team on Grocery & Retail, you'll play a key role in transforming Uber Eats from a food delivery product to one that helps customers get anything they want from local merchants. Our Design teams are focused not just on the functional aspect of the business, but also on joy and delight. We combine thoughtful design with ground breaking machine learning to help people find food and products. We accept the challenge of solving sophisticated logistical problems to build simple, alluring experiences. We reach consumers around the globe, growing their idea of what delivery can be.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is USD$49.00 per hour. You will also be eligible for various benefits.

What You'll Do
- Design simple, sophisticated experiences to simplify complex logistics workflows and processes while working with product managers to define requirements.
- Build wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs based on our UI framework to tackle difficult UX problems.
- Collaborate with your cross functional team to build high-quality design solutions for your product.
- Proactively solicit feedback and learning experiences from other designers to improve your design craft.
- Own design problems end to end, from initial concept through shipping and beyond
- Partner closely with engineers to understand technology capabilities, build your outstanding designs based on quantitative and qualitative feedback, and achieve high quality shipped product
- Bachelors or Masters student actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Literature Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or related field.
- Must be a Junior, rising senior or Master's student class standing at the time of application.
- 0-2 years of prior work experience in a Design /UX/UI setting
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of building products for Android, iOS, and web
- Organized, detail oriented and able to work independently on multiple projects at once as well as prioritize them concurrently
- Proven knowledge with office efficiency tools including email, web browser, web apps, database search, spreadsheets/word processors (Google Apps)
- Self starter, taking initiative keeping relevant customers in the loop
- Open to feedback, excellent at implementing newly learned ideas and concepts
