Technical Operations & Game Developer

8Great Games is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Lead & Game Developer to serve as the technical cornerstone across our multiple production teams. In this role, you will be responsible for streamlining game development pipelines, maintaining robust build systems, and driving technical innovation to support our production of eight games per month. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams of developers, artists, and designers to overcome technical challenges and ensure smooth operations from development to store deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repository & Version Control Management:

• Oversee and manage GitHub repositories across teams.

• Implement and maintain version control workflows to ensure seamless collaboration.

• Game Development & Unity3D Expertise:

• Utilize deep Unity3D knowledge to debug, optimize, and enhance game projects.

• Develop and fine-tune shaders to improve game visuals and performance.

• Build Pipelines, Automation & Tooling:

• Design and implement automated build systems to streamline game production.

• Create and maintain custom tools, packages, and scripts that support game development and production processes.

• Develop tools tailored for game developers to enhance productivity and workflow.

• Code Quality & Review:

• Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices across teams.

• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code cleanliness, maintainability, and adherence to quality standards.

• iOS Development & Store Deployment:

• Work with Xcode and Cocoapods to build, test, and deploy games.

• Manage app store uploading processes, ensuring compliance with guidelines.

• Technical Problem-Solving:

• Troubleshoot and resolve SDK issues and other technical challenges.

• Research new game mechanics and technical solutions to enhance game features.

• Infrastructure & Cloud Management:

• Set up and manage remote cloud environments necessary for game deployment and data management.

• Oversee hyper-casual publishers’ dashboard setups and related integrations.

• Cross-Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with developers, artists, designers, and the product management team to align technical initiatives with creative vision and business goals.

• Lead technical discussions and mentor team members on best practices.

• Professional Experience:

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Senior Game Developer, or similar role in a fast-paced game production environment.

• Demonstrated expertise in Unity3D and a deep understanding of game development workflows.

• Hands-on experience with iOS development tools including Xcode and Cocoapods, with a track record of successfully deploying apps to the App Store.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong command of build automation tools, scripting, and version control (Git).

• Experience with shader programming and graphics optimization.

• Familiarity with remote cloud infrastructure setup and management.

• Proven ability to create internal tools and packages that support game development.

• Experience with code review processes and maintaining code quality standards.

• Strong communication skills with an ability to lead and collaborate across diverse teams.
