Security Expert

QuantumGate is a startup within VentureOne, supported by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and its research arm, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). We specialize in developing and commercializing advanced post-quantum cryptographic solutions, with a mission to secure enterprise digital environments through cutting-edge protocols and applications that tackle the challenges of the post-quantum era.

We are seeking a highly skilled expert in cryptography and information security to provide expertise in designing, implementing, and assessing cryptographic solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of encryption algorithms, key management, secure communication protocols, and compliance with security standards. This role involves advising organizations on best practices, conducting risk assessments, and enhancing cybersecurity strategies through cryptographic methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Cryptographic Advisory & Strategy: Provide expert guidance on cryptographic techniques, protocols, and frameworks to ensure data security and compliance.
• Security Assessment & Audits: Analyze and assess existing cryptographic implementations, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements. The audits are focusing on cryptography-in-use across networks, systems, native and cloud applications.
• Algorithm & Protocol Evaluation: Evaluate encryption algorithms and secure communication protocols for security effectiveness and performance.
• Key Management Solutions: Design and implement secure key management strategies, including Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure cryptographic solutions align with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001 and FIPS 140-2/3.
• Research & Development: Stay updated on emerging threats, post-quantum cryptography advancements, and general security trends.
• Training & Documentation: Provide training to teams on cryptographic best practices and document security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in cryptographic security, cybersecurity consulting, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and primitives (AES, RSA, ECC, SHA, etc.).
• Experience with secure communication protocols (TLS, IPsec, SSH).
• Familiarity with PKI, digital certificates, and authentication mechanisms.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with computer programming (C, C++, etc).
• Hands-on experience with cryptographic libraries (OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle, Libsodium).
• Deep understanding of post-quantum cryptography concepts.
• Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC GSEC, GIAC GPEN, or equivalent cryptography-related credentials.
