Chief Product Officer - Santander Group Crypto Domain

At Santander Group, we are on a mission to redefine digital banking for millions worldwide. As we expand into digital assets, we seek a Chief Product Officer – Crypto to define and execute our global crypto and digital assets strategy. This role will focus on three core pillars: (1) positioning crypto assets as an investment vehicle, primarily for retail but also institutional clients; (2) leveraging stablecoins as a revenue driver and enabler of new financial efficiencies; and (3) advancing tokenization to unlock digital collateral mobility for institutional transaction flows. The Chief Product Officer will lead product innovation, regulatory alignment, and strategic partnerships—including M&A, alliances, and joint ventures—to position the company as a leader in the regulated digital asset space.

Your Mission

Drive the global crypto and digital assets strategy, developing secure, compliant, and scalable products across trading, custody, stablecoins, and tokenization. This role will balance customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business growth, integrating digital assets into the broader financial ecosystem while identifying strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities to enhance the company’s market position.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Crypto & Digital Assets strategy, articulating the value proposition, business objectives, and measurable success criteria.
• Lead strategy implementation, ensuring alignment across the organization and effective deployment in global businesses.
• Oversee the execution of the global strategy in each business unit, ensuring the right allocation of global and local resources.
• Develop and scale crypto trading, custody, payments, stablecoins, and tokenized asset solutions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, aligning product development with evolving legal and risk management frameworks.
• Drive customer-centric product development, optimizing user experience and adoption.
• Establish strategic partnerships, alliances, and M&A opportunities to strengthen the digital assets portfolio.
• Lead cross-functional teams, managing dependencies with other initiatives and overseeing local execution.
• Develop monetization strategies to drive revenue growth and business sustainability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in product leadership within crypto, fintech, or digital banking.
• Deep knowledge of blockchain, digital assets, and financial regulations.
• Track record of leading global product teams and driving innovation.
• Ability to balance risk, compliance, and business growth in a regulated environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and strategic decision-making skills.
• Advanced degree preferred; fluency in English required, with additional languages a plus.
