Head Of Engineering - Hands on PHP

A client of ours who is a scaling global platform with HQ in Sydney, are looking for a Hands on Head of Engineering who comes as a strong visionary and with excellent leadership skills. They have a strong presence in APAC and USA but now looking to grow into new emerging markets.

It is a great opportunity for someone that has a track record of scaling out a successful product (e.g. into new markets and other industries). You will work closely with and manage a first-rate development team of 15, building cutting edge and award winning solutions. This opportunity will allow you to come on board and play a major role in the direction of the technology within the business and will be reporting directly to the CTO.

You will be required to provide technical direction for the product, implement architectural decisions as well as guiding the engineering team on how to achieve the best out come. This role is for someone that is highly driven to lead teams through good times and tough.

Requirements:

• Substantial PHP development experience (10+ years HANDS ON at least).

• Stack – Laravel, React, TypeScript, AWS, GO MicroServices.

• Strong managerial skills with a proven track record of scaling effective teams.

• Proven experience of creating & implementing structured engineering processes.

• Ability to talk heavy tech while also be able to speak at the business table.

• Proven experience in delivering next generation headless architecture is a bonus.

• Development of large and complex applications.

• Great communication is mandatory

• Experience in guiding & leading a team with modern Dev-op Practices

• Ability to lead high level senior engineers to an agreed decision and solution.

Budget is up to $200 - $240k + Super + bonuses.
