UX Interaction Designer

• ACT contract role.
• 12 month contract with possible extensions
• Baseline security clearance required

Our client is seeking a highly skilled UX Interaction Designer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for creating user-centered design solutions and a desire to work on projects that make a real difference. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding research, design, and testing of interaction patterns and interface systems to deliver the best possible service to users. This role requires a candidate who can make evidence-based decisions, prototype and test products/services, and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.

Duties:

• Utilise evidence-based approaches to create accessible solutions centred on users' needs, aims, and behaviour.
• Apply user-centred design methodology to deliver enterprise outcomes and improve stakeholder and user experiences.
• Advocate for, conduct, and participate in user research to design simple, effective, and accessible services.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to understand and define user needs, behaviours, and motivations.
• Design assets such as user flows, prototypes, wireframes, and undertake rapid prototyping.
• Organise and report on usability testing and validation of designs with users.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to achieve strategic objectives.
• Manage a team, including performance, attendance, and health and wellbeing.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience in animation development, with the ability to build visual and audio components using design tools and games engines.
• Competency in software design, with experience in designing moderately complex software applications or components.
• Strong user experience design skills, with the ability to select appropriate tools and design patterns to design user interactions.
• Experience in user experience analysis and evaluation is desirable.
• Ability to manage and mentor a team, with a focus on building knowledge and capability in interaction design activities.
• Candidates must be able to obtain the necessary security clearance.
