Senior Platform Engineer

QuantumGate is a startup within VentureOne, supported by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and its research arm, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). We specialize in developing and commercializing advanced post-quantum cryptographic solutions, with a mission to secure enterprise digital environments through cutting-edge protocols and applications that tackle the challenges of the post-quantum era.

We seek highly skilled and experienced Cloud and Infrastructure Engineers to join our dynamic team to build our next cloud-based product. Providing a virtual Android service, mobile applications, infrastructure and virtual machine scalability, security, and overall service scalability.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the initial planning and design of the Cloud Infrastructure solution and be responsible for the setup, maintenance and support of the solution when it is in development and production.
• Initial Setup, configuration and testing of a Cloud Infrastucture including but not limited to network domains and setup, host system, virtual machine management, resource management (disk and vcpus), lifecycle management, host provider maintenance handling,
• Contributing towards solution and system improvements over time including but not limited to Performance and Performance Monitoring of the system and/ or specific components, Scalability of the system, vertically and horizontally and Availability of the solution.
• Familiarity or experience with Cloud Security concepts, planning and development including but not limited to authentication, authorization, policy and access rights, Confidential computing, Secure boot, key management, integrity and attestation.
• Contribute to Back-end service and application design, planning and be responsible for development for Cloud based solutions in cloud targeted languages and technologies involving multiple services, simultaneous remote connections, turn servers, databases, etc.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform to support the development and deployment of cloud solution to various environments – development, testing and staging, production.
• Working as part of a development team and a production team involving infrastructure team, cloud service and applications team, mobile client team and quality assurance team both in development and production.
• Possibly working with end customers integration

Requirements

• Proficiency in Azure or Google Cloud Platform preferred or similar, including services like Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Storage, and more.
• Experience in delivering software and cloud infrastructure as described above to productization quality levels.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and / mobile applications.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure areas related to virtual machine management, service deployment and high availability.
• Knowledge of cloud security practices and tools.
• Knowledge and experience with design practices such as domain driven design or similar.
• Ability to contribute and work with local and remote teams, follow through on execution and report in regular cadence to team members and project leads (architects and project managers).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in mobile application development (iOS and/or Android) a plus.
