Mid-Level Front-end Developer - Data Visualisation Team

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mid-Level Front-end Developer skilled in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to join our innovative Data Visualisation team. You'll play a key role in building visually striking, user-friendly, and inclusive interfaces that bring our expertly curated data visualisations to life.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll be responsible for building mashups and integrating our industry-leading data visualisation technology, Qlik Sense, into deployments of our white-label Canopy Cloud SaaS product. Our clients include an ever-growing list of global brands and retailers, giving you the opportunity to work on high-impact, widely used solutions.

Collaborating closely with Qlik Developers, you'll have the creative freedom to design pages, embed visualisations, and ensure all user interfaces are accessible and inclusive, following WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop engaging, high-quality dashboards and web portals using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build dashboards incorporating Qlik Sense visualisations using its JavaScript APIs
• Ensure all front-end work meets WCAG 2 accessibility standards, making dashboards and data visualisations usable for all audiences, including those with disabilities
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and optimised code, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet performance, security, and accessibility standards
• Troubleshoot technical challenges, proactively identifying solutions and optimisations
• Proactively research improvements to our dashboards and processes, incorporating modern methodologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, building strong relationships to foster a positive and innovative working environment
• Share knowledge and mentor colleagues, contributing to internal wikis and team learning sessions

What You'll Need:

• Strong experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build responsive and high-performing interfaces
• A solid understanding of web development best practices, ensuring optimised and accessible user experiences
• Experience implementing accessible design principles in line with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) best practices
• Front-end framework experience, ideally including AngularJS (preferred but not essential), jQuery, and Bootstrap
• Knowledge of consuming RESTful APIs and integrating dynamic content
• An eye for design and a passion for creating intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences
• Understanding of responsive design principles to ensure seamless functionality across devices
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, but Not Essential):

• Experience with third-party data visualisation libraries and interactive charts (e.g., Picasso.js, Enigma.js, Leonardo-UI)
• Experience of server-side development (e.g. Node.js, Java, Python)
• Familiarity with Git-based source control and best practices for version management
• Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS.
