DevOps Engineer

Position: Lead DevOps Engineer

Type: W2

Pay: $74-80/hr

Location: Ontario - HYBRID

Summary: This role involves implementing and maintaining Continuous Integration (CI) tools and infrastructure, automating and improving CI processes, and collaborating with various teams to ensure best practices. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in DevOps, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with various CI/CD, scripting, and cloud platforms.

Objectives of this role

• Implementing and maintaining new Continuous Integration tools and infrastructure.
• Understanding the changing needs of developers and translating them into action items.
• Creating new ways to automate and improve the Continuous Integration process.
• Testing and examining code written by others
• Identifying technical problems and developing updates and fixes
• Working with other teams in the organization to ensure adherence to our best practices Responsibilities
• Setting up, maintaining, and optimizing pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions)
• Deploy updates and fixes as required to ensure Continuous Integration
• Develop solutions to integrate with internal back-end systems as needed
• Perform root cause analysis of development and production build and pipeline issues
• Develop automation to enhance current processes
• Develop new procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

• Independent problem-solving: Work independently and proactively seek solutions.
• System Engineering and Administration: Strong foundation in Linux and Windows.
• Scripting languages: Experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Version Control/Repository Management: Familiarity with Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
• CI/CD tools: Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Circle-CI.
• Observability tools: Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or Lens.
• Log management tools: Experience with Elastic Stack, Grafana Loki, or FluentD.
• Configuration Management tools: Familiarity with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Experience required:

7+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or a similar software engineering role.

Experience with embedded systems build and development process preferred.

Team leadership experience highly preferred.
