The Regional Human Resources Director leads the HR function across commercial, operations and support functions. The role acts as the face of HR to the business and manages the overall delivery of HR services to Abbott’s people and affiliates across the country, by leading the local BHR team and by partnering with corporate HR functions (incl. Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits).

- Highly experienced in HR management.
- In addition to the day-to-day managerial function, the role will incorporate strategic and policy development aspects that will have medium term consequences on the operation of the function and perhaps impact elements of organization performance.
- Direct a range of human resources management function through section heads.
- Key member in the formulation of human resources strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for the implementation of company-wide human resources policies and procedures.
- Ensure all activities and programs related to human resources are implemented in accordance with the organisation's human resource strategy.
- These may include: recruitment, training, compensation/remuneration, benefits, performance evaluation, organizational development, relocation, equal employment/affirmative action, health, safety and wellness, human resources administration, human resource information systems, payroll, employee communications, employment/industrial/labour relations.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of managers to ensure the organisation's human resource strategy is implemented effectively, consistently, and according to established guidelines and budgets.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the top executive level so the organisation's human resource strategy is aligned with other business strategies.
- Represent the organisation in interactions with external parties in order to protect the organisation's interests and reputation.
- University degree required.
- Min. 7 years HR experience in leadership HR role (HR Manager/HR Director or similar), incl. managing a diverse team.
- Foundational knowledge of HR practices and norms within the geography; with hands on experience in managing all HR aspects in a complex business environment across multiple locations. Experience in both commercial and manufacturing operations preferred.
- Ability to balance resources and priorities, with the capacity to translate business needs into a meaningful and actionable people strategy.
- Strong relationship management capability with business and HR leaders, as well as employee representative groups
- Experience in successfully managing labour relations with employee representatives, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and leadership presence.
