Our Mobile development team is growing, and we’re seeking experienced Kotlin developers. As part of our team, you’ll work on implementing core services for the Screwfix Website and will have the opportunity to gain new skills.

What's the job?
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust back-end systems using Kotlin/Java.
- Implement and manage server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with front end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements and functionalities.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications and perform code reviews.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for new and existing features.
- Manage and mentor junior members of the team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in back-end development with a strong focus on Kotlin
- Practical understanding of Event Driven Architecture & REST API’s.
- Experience of integrating with third party systems.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab Ultimate or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth.
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Office 365.
- Experience working within a Product Team following an Agile Methodology.
- Understanding of SOLID design principles.
