Network Engineer

We are working with a leading global technology organization to recruit a Network Engineer. This role is responsible for managing, designing, and enhancing enterprise network infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with architects to implement new network technologies, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

This position requires high level network engineering expertise, providing technical guidance to peers, and leading projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience in both traditional networking and network security, including routing, switching, and firewall implementations for on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, Implement, and Innovate:

• Deploy new network technologies or enhancements to existing solutions as defined by the architecture team.
• Configure, test, and optimize network and network security components, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless AP/controllers, SDN fabric elements, load balancers, NAC servers, and cloud networking components.
• Research and recommend innovative technologies and approaches to improve enterprise network infrastructure.
• Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity considerations are included in all network technology implementations.
• Improve network performance, resiliency, and redundancy through proactive upgrades and enhancements.

Monitor, Document, and Provide Support:

• Offer Tier 3 support for complex incidents requiring advanced troubleshooting and resolution.
• Maintain detailed documentation, including network configurations and system changes, using tools such as Microsoft Visio.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for expert-level support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with security regulations and standards, including PCIDSS, PII, CIS, and NIST, addressing vulnerabilities and security requirements promptly.

Collaborate and Mentor:

• Work cross-functionally with various business units to implement new technologies.
• Take a leadership role in assigned projects, overseeing both technical and communication aspects.
• Mentor and coach peer engineers, fostering knowledge transfer and cross-training within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• 5-7 years of experience in network design, implementation, and documentation within medium to large-scale enterprise environments (10,000+ users).
• Strong expertise with Cisco enterprise technologies (CCNP Enterprise level required; CCIE is a plus):
• Knowledge of Layer 2 LAN technologies (STP, VLANs, VTP, LACP).
• High availability networking (VPC, SVL, HSRP, VRRP).
• Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
• 1-2 years of experience in data center spine-leaf fabric design and maintenance (Arista/Cisco); Arista ACE L3 certification required.
• 1-2 years of experience with Cisco DNA Center and SD-WAN technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto ION).
• Experience working with Cisco Wireless technologies in large enterprise environments (Cisco WLC, FlexConnect, CAPWAP).

Desirable:

• Experience with Palo Alto firewall platforms (NGFW, Threat Prevention, User ID, Prisma Access).
• Administration of F5 clusters, load balancing, SSL decryption policies, DNS geolocation (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM/Cloud WAF).
• Remote Access VPN solutions (Global Protect, F5 BIG-IP Edge).
• Certificate management (Venafi) and PKI security.
• NAC solutions implementation (Forescout, Cisco ISE).
• Experience with Infoblox DNS/IPAM functions.
• Cloud networking and security architecture design experience.
• Automation and scripting experience (Python, Ansible).
• Familiarity with security protocols and frameworks, including intrusion detection/prevention, SSL/TLS, and VPNs.
• Network monitoring tools such as Microsoft SevOne, SolarWinds, DataDog, and Splunk.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in network engineering and/or security.
• Required certifications: CCNP Enterprise (R&S), Arista ACE L3.
• Desirable certifications: CCIE, PCNSE, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC.
