Key requirements for the position include;
- $160k to $170k base + super
- Must have external customer facing experience - Vendor experience, consulting, or product customer experience
- Lead the Development function - Lead offshore provided Developers and QAs to build custom features, extensions for clients on top of their core platform
- Deliver complex propriety software environment - SaaS or hosted solutions to end customers, typically highly configurable/customisable, bespoke software.
- 50% hybrid model in office - 2-3 days a week in the Sydney CBD office.
Purpose
As part of the end to end Delivery function, the Customer Technology team is responsible for the design, implementation, testing and support of customer deliverables requiring software development.
The customer facing Technology Lead plays a key role in our customer experience through partnering with customers on creating solutions and through their leadership of our developers and testers who create these customer solutions. This role will also support the broader Delivery function in providing technical advice and support throughout the customer lifecycle from pre-sales through to successful implementation of the platform and ongoing BAU support.
Responsibilities
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- Ensure customer’s expectations are exceeded in terms of their development requirements with high quality outcomes delivered on time and on budget.
- Take ownership of the technical outcomes by delivering fit for purpose, secure, scalable and modern technical solutions.
- Provide expert technical support to the broader Delivery team in terms of solving technical problems and delivering creative technical solutions with the platform.
- Achieve positive commercial outcomes through the paid services provided by the Customer Technology Team to customers.
- Develop and build a high performing Customer Technology Team fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and technical excellence through strong leadership.
- Comply with company policies and procedures on the handling of personal data, data confidentiality and information security
Skills and Experience

- Proven experience in a leadership role within a software engineering or professional services environment.
- Experience building a team from the ground up and establishing processes and practices.
- Passionate about understanding customer needs and ensuring successful outcomes through technical solutions and support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders of various levels of seniority.
- Demonstrated ability to service multiple customers simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development using Java ecosystem.
- High level of self-awareness and focused on continuous improvement.
- Degree qualified or equivalent commercial experience.
