Top Sigma Studios, a trademark of Top Sigma, is a game development studio specializing in crafting immersive and high-quality political simulation games. We aim to deliver deep, strategic experiences where every decision impacts the game, setting a new standard in the genre. Our focus is on developing games that challenge players to think critically and make meaningful choices.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Unity Developer to join our team on a contract, remote basis. You will be responsible for building and optimizing core gameplay systems, implementing complex strategic mechanics, and developing UI and interaction features. This role requires a deep understanding of Unity and C# to create scalable, performant systems that support a dynamic simulation environment.

You will work closely with the design team to translate strategic game mechanics into a cohesive and engaging player experience. A strong background in turn-based or simulation game development is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize core gameplay systems using Unity and C#.
  • Implement complex political, economic, and social simulation mechanics.
  • Design and build UI elements to reflect dynamic game state changes (e.g., faction alignment, voting outcomes).
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
  • Work with designers to implement logic-based decision-making and AI systems.
  • Ensure performance and memory optimization for high-performance simulation on a range of hardware.
  • Collaborate with the art and UI/UX team to integrate assets and create a seamless player experience.
  • Implement save/load functionality and state persistence for complex, multi-layered simulations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Unity and C# with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Experience developing complex gameplay systems (e.g., AI behavior, state machines, economic models).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing development timelines effectively.
  • Experience in turn-based, strategy, or simulation games.
  • Familiarity with creating scalable, event-driven systems.
