A leader in the commodities trading space, is looking for a Lead AWS Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust cloud infrastructure solutions. This role blends technical expertise with leadership, as you'll manage a globally distributed team of 4-5 engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a small infrastructure team.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on AWS to support trading applications.
• Focus on core networking concepts, including firewall configuration, routing, subnets, and DNS resolution.
• Oversee Kubernetes environments, ensuring strong hardware and infrastructure integration.
• Implement observability solutions for tracing, monitoring, and alerting.
• Utilise AWS services — EC2, VPC, Route 53, and EKS — to build and optimise infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and proactively implement solutions.
• Collaborate with trading teams to ensure seamless application deployment and integration.
• Stay current with AWS advancements and best practices in the commodities trading space.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure design and deployment, particularly with AWS.
• Strong knowledge of network fundamentals — firewalls, routing, subnets, and DNS.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and its hardware interactions.
• Expertise in observability tools for monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
• Proven leadership skills, managing globally distributed teams.
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
