Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in San Mateo, CA that is seeking a Backend Engineer. Summary: In this role, the Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend services that power our high-traffic platform. They will work with technologies like AWS, Golang, gRPC, Kubernetes, Terraform, and a microservice architecture to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. Additionally, the Backend Engineer will be working with databases and event streaming platforms to handle high-volume data and real-time communication. Handling tens of millions of calls and messages daily, they will focus on keeping our platform fast, responsive, and highly available.

Requirements

• Strong experience building microservices
• Strong operational tendencies - code they will ship will be supported by growth
• Able to develop software for others that have not written the software
• A lot of event driven architecture experience
• NoSQL database experience
• DynamoDB experience
• B2C experience
• Experience in a tech start up/scale up environment
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Event Driven Architecture experience
• Golang experience
• AWS experience
• Microservices experience
• Terraform experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
