We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and test complex network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities, take ownership of tasks, and proactively drive implementation of solutions. They should possess deep technical expertise in network design, auditing, and compliance verification while ensuring security best practices.
12 months contract with possible extensions
Location - Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra
Technical Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Architecture: Develop, implement and test high availability mission critical network solutions, focusing on MPLS, Segment Routing, PCE Route Reflection, VLAN Service Management, and IGP protocols (IS-IS, OSPF).
- Routing & Switching: Configure and troubleshoot enterprise and service provider networks, ensuring high availability and performance.
- EVPN & Multicast: Design and support EVPN, MBGP, and multicast solutions to enhance network scalability and high availability.
- Network Auditing & Compliance: Conduct regular network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with technical requirements, security policies and industry best practices.
- Requirements Tracing & Security: Map technical and security requirements to network designs, ensuring each requirement can be objectively traced and it uncontestable.
Soft Skills & Leadership:
- Work under minimal supervision, taking full ownership of tasks from design to implementation.
- Exhibit leadership qualities with active collaboration across teams.
- Be proactive in identifying potential network issues and driving continuous improvements.
- Take initiative—don’t wait for things to happen, make things happen by driving projects forward and implementing innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in network architecture, design, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
- Strong expertise in MPLS, Segment Routing, VLAN management, and advanced routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, EVPN, Multicast).
- Experience in network auditing, compliance verification, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with PCE Route Reflection and traffic engineering methodologies.
- Familiarity with network automation and monitoring tools is a plus.
- Experience in working with mission critical high availability networks
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco (CCNP, CCIE)
- Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP) are advantageous
