Ensures that validation and documentation acitivties are performed compliant with given standards for the development of medical devices and creates all artefacts defined by the usability engineering process.

Continously validates hypothesis and design decisions against the target user needs to ensure relevance of products and services.

The Product Designer works with a multi-disciplinary team of stakeholders to deliver compelling UX solutions while acknowledging limitations and trade-offs. A successful candidate will partner with user experience specialists, product managers, medical practitioners, and engineers worldwide to solve complex problems with simple, intuitive, yet robust designs.

Key Responsibilities

Influencing product vision and strategy

• Frame your work to relate to the long-term goals of your product’s business strategy
• Earn partners' trust to drive effective relationships
• Build high-quality products with your team and improve on them
  
  

Shipping design

• Demonstrate proven knowledge of the problems, how competitors solve them, and where gaps exist
• Explore concepts, narrow to the best solution, and clearly articulate the rationales for the chosen design solution
• Design our systems, not just elements or pages and start solving related problems in our products
• Work closely with researchers to plan research activities, uncover unmet needs, and constantly validate that the design solutions meet all safety requirements
  
  

Executing within the medical environment constrains

• Ensure our UCD activities are following internal work instructions
• Ensure all required Design documentation comply with the IEC 62366-1:2015 specification
  
  

Collaborating to learn and grow

• Apply our core values and design principles to all your work systematically. Resonate with how your work relates to the values and principles.
• Actively engage with other designers to give and solicit feedback to continually ensure that the design solutions are smart and safe to use
• Actively share feedback and comments on others' work to help them grow in their field
  
  

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience delivering great experience design as UX designer, interaction designer, information architect or similar
• Design skills; we use Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and we are open to experimenting with other tools that can help the team
• Experience working in the healthcare domain with design control, regulatory practices, and standards for medical devices or similar regulated industries is a nice to have
• Knowledge of agile software development methods is highly desired
• Great communication and presentation skills that speak to a broad range of audiences
• Have an online portfolio or a PDF portfolio that can be shared along with the application. Application without a portfolio will not be considered

• Experience working side-by-side with engineers and product managers to build intuitive experiences
• Effectively manages personal priorities under stress
• Understanding of the importance of setting aside the time and space to learn and grow your design practice
