Backend Developer (Python)

We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team for a project on geospatial data management and visualization. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python for geospatial data processing, PostGIS for spatial database management, and GeoPandas for data manipulation and analysis.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Python for geospatial data processing
  • Experience with PostGIS for spatial database management and querying
  • Expertise in GeoPandas for geospatial data manipulation and analysis
  • Solid understanding of geospatial concepts such as coordinate reference systems and spatial indexing
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and data integration for geospatial applications
  • English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher for effective communication
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities

Will be a plus

  • Familiarity with GDAL, Shapely, or Rasterio for advanced geospatial data processing
  • Experience with cloud-based geospatial solutions (AWS, Google Earth Engine, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data visualization techniques for geospatial data
  • Understanding of big data processing frameworks (Spark, Dask) for large-scale geospatial analytics


Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize geospatial data processing pipelines
  • Manage and query spatial databases using PostGIS
  • Perform geospatial data analysis and manipulation with GeoPandas
  • Integrate geospatial data into applications and services via APIs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance geospatial data visualization and management solutions
  • Ensure high performance and scalability of geospatial data workflows
  • Document processes and provide technical support for geospatial data solutions
