Trainee Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to deliver Cloud Engineering services to Rackspace’s Enterprise and SME clients. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands-on technical skills, with the experience and consulting skills to understand, shape, and deliver against our customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement cloud solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, monitored, auditable, and cost-optimized
  • Managing and supporting ticket queues of various clients and maintaining the SLA
  • Escalation to appropriate task manager of inappropriate work task requests or requirements
  • Leveraging personal subject matter expertise, and working closely with peers, the role will be accountable for delivering quality support in a client-facing role. You’ll be the voice of Rackspace within the customer
  • Support 24X7 environment with long-term or permanent shifts if applicable
  • Support the creation of relevant documentation around the cloud implementations


Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Fresh Graduates to candidates up to 1 year of experience may apply
  • Should know the basics of one major public cloud i.e. Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Strong communication skills
  • Help monitor cloud-based systems for availability, performance, reliability, security, etc. using cloud-native or external tooling
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of PowerShell/Shell/Python scripting
  • Install operating systems, and application software in cloud computing environments and patching
  • Basic knowledge of network, and awareness of cloud network patterns such as Virtual Networks, subnets, peering, firewalls, etc
  • Candidates with knowledge of automation tools such as Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, Ansible, or similar will be preferred.
  • Ideally have a degree in a technology field or equivalent industry experience
