The ideal candidate will use their passion for big data and analytics to provide insights to the business covering a range of topics. They will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analysis for business users.
- Power BI Dashboard Creation:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards to track production performance, production schedules, and efficiency metrics across different production lines and shifts.
- Data Integration:
- Extract and integrate data from multiple sources such as ERP (SAP, Oracle), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and other internal systems to analyze production data.
- Production Metrics Tracking:
- Track and visualize key production metrics, such as:
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) (availability, performance, quality)
- Production Efficiency
- Cycle Time and Downtime
- Throughput and Yield
- Scrap Rate and Defects Per Unit (DPU)
- Production Cost per Unit
- Utilization Rates (machine and workforce utilization)
- Inventory Levels and Raw Material Consumption
- Trend Analysis:
- Identify production trends and variances from historical data and provide recommendations for process improvements or corrective actions.
- Real-Time Reporting:
- Develop real-time dashboards for floor managers and operators to monitor key production metrics, detect bottlenecks, and optimize workflows on the factory floor.
- Data Governance and Accuracy:
- Ensure that all production data is accurate, consistent, and follows appropriate data governance practices.
- Predictive Analytics:
- Use data analytics to predict production delays, maintenance needs, or supply chain disruptions based on historical patterns.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with production managers, engineers, and operational teams to ensure dashboards and data reporting align with production goals and operational requirements.
- Process Optimization:
- Provide data-driven insights to improve production processes, minimize waste, and optimize labor and machine resources.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Power BI Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including experience with Power Query, DAX, and creating advanced visualizations. Ability to develop both high-level management dashboards and detailed operational reports for the production team.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Strong skills in analyzing large sets of production data and providing actionable insights. Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing such as OEE, uptime, yield, and cycle time.
- Manufacturing Systems Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for data extraction and reporting.
- Database Management:
- Experience in querying and integrating data from relational databases using SQL or other database tools. Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to clean and structure data.
- Excel Proficiency:
- Advanced Excel skills, especially with pivot tables, data modeling, and complex formulas for initial data analysis before transferring to Power BI.
- Operational Knowledge:
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, including production lines, equipment, and workflow processes, will help in identifying meaningful KPIs and creating relevant dashboards.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and predict potential issues.
- Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders (production managers, team leads, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, Power BI reporting, or production data management.
- Certifications (optional but beneficial):
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI)
