We have an immediate opening for a Web Developer in our Whistler, BC office. Web Developers build industry-leading websites and interactive solutions for our clients. Working alongside the Director of Digital Experiences, other developers, designers, and account service teams to meet established project objectives, they are involved in all aspects of our interactive projects, including discovery and strategic planning, to development, testing and ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Theming highly custom websites (primarily Drupal, WordPress, and Shopify) as part of a project team to ensure top-quality builds
Pushing creative boundaries in front-end code for client sites
Exploring and implementing emerging technologies, including AI best practices, development, and proofs of concept
Staying current with industry trends beyond technology (performance, frameworks, languages, services)
Documenting functionality, DevOps, and workflow processes
Collaborating with strategists and designers to enhance UI
Ensuring accessibility in all code for a more inclusive web
Planning all site builds for industry-leading performance
Addressing tickets and issues from service-level clients
Conducting detailed Quality Assurance checks
Identifying system deficiencies and implementing solutions
Developing website documentation and CMS training as needed
Contributing to brainstorms, business pitches, and digital strategy
Participating in department meetings, initiatives, and inspiration

Qualifications:

3–5 years of front-end development and theming expertise
Keen eye for design and UI details
Proficient in HTML, advanced CSS, Sass, jQuery, and JavaScript
Strong JavaScript and front-end animation skills
Experience with various front-end animation and UI libraries
Proficient in Git and Composer
Understanding of Atomic Design
Strong written and verbal communication
Experience with front-end tooling (Yarn, Node, Gulp, Grunt, Webpack)
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG AA)
Familiar with Docker, Lando, or similar local environments
Experience with Pantheon hosting
Extensive WordPress, Drupal, and CMS experience
Understanding of PHP, Drupal theming, and module development
Experience with CI workflows and related tools
Knowledge of Shopify theming
Client-facing experience in ticketing systems
