About the opportunity

We’re Superscript, an insurtech on a mission to make business insurance as simple and pain-free as possible for our customers.

We’re looking for aspiring engineers to join us on our mission as part of our passionate tech team. If you’ve recently done a bootcamp, made a career change or been self-teaching all things software development then we want to help you spring into a career in tech.

We’re enthusiastic about teaching and learning from each other within the tech team at Superscript, all whilst solving technical complex problems unique to the insurance industry.

About you:

• Aspiring software engineer / developer
• Monumental passion for learning and growing into the best engineer you can be
• Great problem solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and own the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Unafraid to jump into different languages and frameworks
• Constantly curious
• Love to contribute to open source projects or play around with side projects for fun
• Ideally have a bachelor’s degree (Dutch: HBO+, does not have to be technical or tech-related)

How you can expect to grow:

• Continuously learn in a collaborative way
• Become an engineer who can work independently but values the power of teamwork
• Understand the inner workings of balancing technical excellence and business direction
• Pick up how to efficiently create and deliver customer friendly features
• Mature your coding style and technical opinions
• Begin to master our tech stack which is PHP with Laravel, Vue.js, PostgreSQL
• Grasp concepts such as Event Sourcing and Domain Driven Design (DDD)
• Soak up knowledge from other engineers through pair programming

In return, we offer you:

• A salary of €30,000 to €35,000+ annually, including 8% holiday pay
