Firmware Engineer – Satellites

🌐 Context

As part of a strategic project for one of our key clients, Akkodis is recruiting a Firmware Engineer specializing in satellite systems to work on Proof of Concept development and advanced prototypes. In this role, you will design firmware architecture, select hardware components, and develop cutting-edge embedded solutions for payloads, microcontrollers, and communication protocols.

You will collaborate closely with the hardware team, defining specifications, debugging, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

🎯 Responsabilities

• Design and develop the firmware architecture for satellite embedded systems.
• Participate in the selection of electronic components in collaboration with the hardware team.
• Implement and optimize control and regulation algorithms.
• Develop communication protocols tailored to space environments.
• Write technical specifications (SPEC) for firmware.
• Perform debugging of embedded systems in close collaboration with hardware engineers.

💼 Required Skills and experience

• Engineering degree in electronics, embedded systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience in firmware development for space or critical applications.
• Proficiency in C programming and embedded system constraints.
• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded architectures.
• Experience with communication protocols (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, etc.).
• Good understanding of payloads and system regulation.
• Ability to collaborate with hardware engineers to define specifications and optimize performance.
• Analytical mindset, autonomy, and a passion for innovation.
