Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role

This position would see you shaping and strengthening security measures through expert risk assessments, compliance advisory, and governance frameworks. You will need to boast a strong understanding of ISO 27001 and third-party SaaS risk assessments. This position is a 6-month fixed-term contract with one of Western Australia’s largest IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments on third-party SaaS providers, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
• Provide expert advisory services to stakeholders on security governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining ISO 27001-aligned security policies and controls.
• Assess and enhance security controls for procurement, contracts, and vendor management.
• Develop and deliver cyber security awareness training for staff and leadership teams.
• Provide strategic recommendations for improving overall cyber risk management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security within business and IT processes.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in cyber security advisory, GRC, and risk management.
• Hands-on experience conducting risk assessments for third-party SaaS solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 27001, security compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Industry certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CISA, CCSP (highly desirable).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to develop and implement security policies, frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.
