Freelance Network Engineer

Freelance Network Engineer | Vienna (Hybrid 1x a week on site)

Join a long-term freelance mission with a leading European transport and logistics giant in Austria. This is a great opportunity for a fluent German-speaking Network Engineer to work on deployment, support, and operations projects. You’ll manage Cisco networking and security firewalls, including Fortinet, ASA, and Palo Alto, with a hybrid setup of one day onsite and the rest remote.

Responsibilities:

Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure and security firewalls. Provide operational support and troubleshoot complex network issues. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth network performance and security. Assist with firewall rule management, policy configurations, and incident response.

Skills/Must have:

Fluent German speaking and writing skills. Proven experience with Cisco networking, deployment, and support. Expertise with firewalls, including Fortinet, ASA, and Palo Alto. Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
