You would be joining our data platform team, which is responsible for delivering data pipelines, data warehouse, tools & best practices around data and AI area for organization. The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our Data Platforms team on our cloudification journey. You will be part of a development team responsible for developing and maintaining various data intensive solutions. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn and grow in the field of data engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in designing and implementing data pipelines.
  • Support the development of solutions for data handling and machine learning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and optimization of data operations.

  • Flexibility to work from Elisa office in Helsinki, Tampere or Joensuu. The team’s home base is in Pasila, Helsinki. Occasional travel to Helsinki expected if your home office is elsewhere.

We have a hybrid work model in place, where the expectation is that Elisians will work on average three days a week at the office.

What We Expect From You

  • Understanding of modern software development patterns - Git, CI/CD, DevOps practices are not unknown topics for you
  • Good skills in Python & SQL
  • Basic understanding of database structures
  • Some hands-on experience in one of major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Enjoy writing maintainable and well-tested code
  • Willingness to take responsibility & independent work approach
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English
  • Any of these are considered as an advantage
    • Hands on experience on GCP: BigQuery, Looker, Vertex AI, Cloud Run
    • Knowledge of data processing frameworks like GCP Dataflow (Apache Beam), Apache Spark, or Apache Flink.
    • Technologies such as GCP Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), Apache Kafka, and Kubernetes.
    • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data modelling techniques
    • Infrastructure as Code
