At NTT DATA we are currently looking for an AI Engineer to join our International Organisations team in Barcelona.

As an AI engineer, you will closely work with an interdisciplinary team of consultants working for the European Commission. You will help improving the functioning of the European labour market by engineering intelligent tools for skills and labour market intelligence and career recommendations. We are looking for someone who is a team player and has a proven track record in building software solutions with artificial intelligence and natural language processing technology at its core. You have a keen interest in the employment and education policies of the EU.

You will be responsible for researching and developing AI and NLP algorithms with knowledge graphs and managed classifications, based on a methodology for skills and labour market intelligence and career recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, engineering, or mathematics, ideally with specialisation in artificial intelligence or natural language processing. We are looking for someone detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills, and a passion for solving complex business challenges.

Main tasks

• Designing and engineering tools for skills and labour market intelligence and career recommendations.
• Researching latest algorithms and libraries and adapting them to a skills and labour market context.
• Assess data quality and completeness; suggest improvements for use as solid machine learning data.
• Building data and model pipelines.
• Building proofs of concept based on research and review, document, and refactor code to ensure quality and reusability.
• Drafting reports, briefing notes, presentation materials and (technical) documentation.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience

• Up to date on current trends and research in the field and has a good view of the ecosystem of available libraries, APIs and algorithms;
• Theoretical and hands-on knowledge of data science techniques, machine learning, graph algorithms, statistics and deep learning using Python libraries such as PyTorch, NLTK, Gensim, spaCy, etc.;
• You’ve successfully applied NLP and artificial intelligence algorithms in a product context before (forecasting, recommendation, prediction, outlier detection, sensor analytics, named entity recognition, semantic similarity, relationship extraction, retrieval, summarization, topic modelling, etc.)
• Strong software development skills in Python and using tools such as Git, Docker, and cloud technologies (AWS).
• Academic background in computer science, engineering or mathematics, ideally with specialisation in artificial intelligence or natural language processing.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken;

Nice to have

• Experience with data visualisation using angular and python;
• Knowledge of developing web applications and APIs;
• Good understanding of semantic web, ontologies and knowledge graphs;
• Interest and knowledge of employment and education policy at EU level;
