In your role as a Junior Software Engineer - Web (m/f/d), you’ll help build fast, intuitive web experiences as part of our Discovery team; the group responsible for shaping a customer’s first impression of Flink and making it easy to find and add the right products to their cart. This includes key areas like the homepage, deals tab, search, and product detail pages.

As a Junior Software Engineer (m/f/d), you will have the opportunity to work with experienced colleagues who will support your learning and growth, while still giving you ownership of the work you do.

Job Description

• Collaborate with the team to create an amazing customer experience across our website, including key areas like the homepage (the first screen when opening Flink), the deals section, search, categories, and product detail pages;
• Take part in discussions and planning around platform development and website architecture;
• Get an opportunity to work across teams to create real value for our customers;
• Collaborate within the frontend team to develop our webshop and various landing pages that drive business impact;
• Explore and experiment with new technologies and frameworks;
• Collaborate with designers to implement clean and user-friendly interfaces;
• You’ll work in a cross-functional team using technologies like React, Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, and Tailwind CSS, with opportunities to contribute to our Backend for Frontend (BFF) services;
• Contribute to documentation and share knowledge across the team.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience as a Frontend Engineer, with a focus on building React applications; either working within an existing codebase or building from the ground up;
• Proficiency in ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar technologies;
• Comfortable bringing design mockups (e.g. from Figma) to usable web pages that work well across devices;
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web service architecture;
• Familiarity with modern frontend tools, libraries, and workflows;
• Open-minded personality, comfortable working both in a Lean and Agile environment and making decisions in a collaborative way with the team;
• Willingness to learn, grow, and support others in a collaborative environment;
• Experience with server-side rendering (e.g., Next.js or Nuxt.js) is a plus;
• Experience with modern development practices like GitHub, transpilers, linters, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus;
• A focus on code quality, with knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing considered a plus.
