Role Overview

As a Junior Software Engineer, Back End Developer you will support and actively cooperate with the IT Team on different projects.

Specifically, you will have the unique opportunity to learn and contribute to building Satispay products and features, helping us figure out what our users need, adding new features to existing products, and creating entirely new products, to make Satispay the best payment system available.

You could be working on anything from our APIs, and web interfaces to internal admin tools. Despite the scale of our work, we're a friendly IT team that works closely with all departments to accomplish Satispay's mission.

Our stack differs depending on the projects you are working on. It ranges from Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Java, Jersey, Spring, and Dynamo DB. We also use AWS for our infrastructure, composed of a set of RESTful microservices deployed on EC2, using RDS/Dynamo DB for db persistence, S3 for file storage and AWS Lambda for serverless functions, Kinesis and ElasticSearch for log streaming.

• Identify user needs. Utilize your analytical skills to understand and address user needs, ensuring our solutions are effective and user-friendly.
• Build and enhance products. Help build and add features to existing ones, contributing to the continuous improvement of Satispay's offerings.
• Make an impact. Play a vital role in simplifying payments and improving accessibility, directly contributing to the mission of Satispay and positively impacting users across Europe.
• Cross-Department collaboration. Work hand-in-hand with various teams to develop and deliver features that meet the needs of our users.
• Revolutionize the payment industry. Play a significant role in revolutionizing the payment industry, making transactions simpler and more accessible for people across Europe.
  
  

Your Ideal Profile

• Relevant education. You possess a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Programming language expertise. You are willing to work within a Java-based environment and have basic knowledge of any programming language. A brief experience in the role will be considered a plus.
• Structured communication skills. You are able to communicate in a structured and convincing manner, adapting your communication style based on the context to build trust positively and professionally with various stakeholders.
• Passion for fintech or startup environments. You are enthusiastic about working in FinTech or startup environments and eager to embrace new challenges.
• Language proficiency. You are fluent in English.
