Reporting directly to the Data Office Advanced Analytic Manager, Guess sees the application of Advanced Analytic as a core source of competitive advantage in the data drive approach to different business areas, providing insights and efficiency to all the stakeholders.

Data Scientistinternwill be in contact with each company department and consultants' teams to follow a growth path in the advanced analytics projects and become, month after month, more independent on several tasks.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Be aware of all the models currently in production after the knowledge transfer on each one
  • Data exploratory analysis to identify the best features to explain and describe a business need for a first internal discussion
  • Create a first draft of a prototype model to investigate the feasibility of a specific business request for a first internal discussion
  • Gap analysis on evolutive maintenance of an existing model in production to address change requests
  • Model tuning of an existing model in production to potentially enhance the results
  • Stay up to date on the data science field topics
  • Be autonomous in the preliminary analysis after the right training on the specific task


Requirements

TECH REQUIREMENTS

  • Student in Quantitative Sciences (Master Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics or engineering)
  • Good proficiency in Python, at least NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn
  • Experience with database languages (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
  • Familiarity in the following areas: Applied Data Science, Statistical and Machine / Deep Learning,
  • Skills in selecting the proper statistical/ML/AI tools given a problem is a plus
  • Good presentation and report writing skills is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and machine learning models is a plus


Soft Requirements

  • Curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Critical sensibility on the daily basis activity
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to share complex technical concepts to broad audiences in simplified format
  • Strong delivery focus
