Data Specialist

Role Description:

• Optimize compute and storage costs for Microsoft Fabric workloads.

• Monitor data pipelines, Power BI DirectQuery performance, and Synapse workloads.

• Troubleshoot DAX, SQL, and KQL queries for performance tuning.

Essential Skills:

1. Architecture & Design

• Design and implement Microsoft Fabric solutions for data integration, governance, and analytics.

• Architect scalable data lakehouses, warehouses, and real-time analytics solutions.

• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices for Microsoft Fabric deployments.

• Optimize data models, Direct Lake, and Real-Time Analytics for performance and cost efficiency.

2. Data Engineering & Integration

• Work with Synapse Data Warehouses, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse concepts within Microsoft Fabric.

• Implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Data Factory, Dataflows, and Pipelines.

• Integrate Microsoft Fabric with Power BI, Azure Machine Learning, and third-party tools.

3. Governance, Security & Compliance

• Define data governance policies using Microsoft Purview.

• Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and security best practices.

4. Performance Optimization & Monitoring

• Optimize compute and storage costs for Microsoft Fabric workloads.

• Monitor data pipelines, Power BI DirectQuery performance, and Synapse workloads.

• Troubleshoot DAX, SQL, and KQL queries for performance tuning.

Desirable Skills:

5. Collaboration

• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, business users, and IT teams.

• Provide guidance on Fabric adoption, best practices, and migration from existing Azure data & Analytics platforms

• Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions on Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
