AWS DevOps Engineer

POSITION DETAILS:
As an AWS DevOps Engineer at the Nationwide Group, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and security. Your expertise in AWS, CI/CD, Linux, web servers, and security will be essential to the success of our projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• AWS Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure resources (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, etc.) to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. Monitor and optimize AWS resources, while adhering to best practices for cost efficiency.
• CI/CD Pipeline: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI/CD. Automate the deployment process to ensure rapid and reliable releases.
• Linux OS Administration: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS). Implement security patches, updates, and system monitoring.
• Web Servers: Set up and maintain web servers (e.g., Nginx, Apache) and reverse proxies for application deployment. Optimize server configurations for high performance and security.
• Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:

•Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS.
•Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience with related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CI/CD).
•Proficiency in Linux server administration, shell scripting, and system performance tuning.
•Experience with web servers (Nginx, Apache) and application server configurations.
•In-depth understanding of security principles, practices, and tools.
•AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (preferred but not mandatory).
•Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
