The Brand Experience Group is on a mission to empower anyone to bring their brand to life with every design. We're transforming how enterprises manage brand consistency at scale, using cutting-edge AI to interpret guidelines, offer context-aware guidance, and continuously learn from user behaviour and performance data. As a Frontend engineer in the Brand Application team, you will design and implement the user interfaces and interactive components that bring our brand system and components vision to life.

What You’d Be Doing In This Role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA – but we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you a flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On

• Design and build stunning UI for our Brand System, focusing on usability and visual appeal
• Develop responsive, high-performance UI components that balance brand compliance with creative flexibility
• Implement Frontend components for the agent-based AI framework, ensuring seamless user experience across real-time brand guidance, audits, and analytics
• Utilise modern Frontend technologies to build interfaces that push the boundaries of brand management at Canva.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, Backend Engineers, ML engineers, and designers to ship cohesive AI-driven brand experiences that scale across enterprise customers
• Proactively prototype and experiment with new UI approaches that could enhance brand compliance, flexibility, and user experience
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain high code quality and share knowledge across teams
  
  
  

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Frontend Engineer who is passionate about creating intuitive, engaging user interfaces. You don't need prior experience in brand management—but you should be excited to dive deep, learn fast, and shape the future of AI-powered brand experiences.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have

• You’ve got 3+ years of experience in frontend development, ideally with modern frameworks like React
• You have a strong foundation in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• A track record of building and shipping user-friendly, visually appealing interfaces, particularly for complex data-driven applications
• A growth mindset - excited to apply your Frontend expertise to a new field, learning rapidly about brand AI, enterprise needs, and the intersection of compliance and creativity
• A passion for staying at the cutting edge of Frontend development, constantly evaluating new techniques and applying them to real-world challenges
• A product-first mindset, with a strong intuition for how UI can enhance user experience, improve workflow, and simplify complex systems
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mentality, capable of driving UI projects from conception to execution
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working alongside product managers, ML engineers, designers, and business stakeholders
