Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Lead complex, high-impact initiatives, making independent strategic decisions and guiding the technical direction for key projects.
  • Mentorship: Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, sharing best practices, reviewing code, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Backend/Frontend Development: Utilize your deep expertise in software engineering to develop robust backend or frontend systems that support Klarna's AI-driven solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, product teams, and stakeholders in a highly collaborative, transparent environment.
  • System Design & Integration: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance systems, ensuring system integration across multiple platforms.

Required Experience And Skills

  • Java Expertise: Strong experience with Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), Hibernate, or JPA for ORM.
  • Cloud & Microservices: Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture, ensuring scalability and robust system integration.
  • Testing Skills: Proficiency with JUnit, Mockito, and other testing tools for unit and integration testing.
  • Containerization & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Docker, containerization technologies, and CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
  • Database Management: Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in relational databases and solid experience with microservices architecture.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate in an agile, growth-focused environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Java Version 17+ and experience with Spring Security or other modern Java frameworks.
  • NoSQL Databases & Performance Tuning: Familiarity with NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Kubernetes & DevOps: Exposure to Kubernetes, CI/CD best practices, Terraform, CDK, and monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Datadog, and Sentry.
  • Distributed Systems & Security: Understanding of distributed systems, high-availability design patterns, event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and security best practices for Java applications.
  • API Development: Knowledge of API design and development (RESTful or GraphQL) and experience with authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
