Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Strenght

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or 8+ years of experience in network engineering).
  • At least 3 years in end-user or customer-facing roles.
  • Experience working for or with service providers and enterprise customers.
  • Knowledge of Data Center or Enterprise/Campus network architecture, deployment, and configuration (physical and virtual appliances).
  • Proficiency in networking technologies such as STP, HSRP, Nexus vPC, LACP, and IPSEC/SSL VPN.
  • Expertise in routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, and Meraki (firewalls, routing/switching, wireless, and security).
  • Strong understanding of Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN, including clientless VPN.
  • Experience with Azure network configurations (Policies, NATs, S2S VPN, and Routing).
  • Knowledge of authentication methods such as LDAP, Radius, and Okta.
  • Experience with internal and public DNS, including DNS security and threat prevention.
  • Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in German and English.

Your Contribution

  • Participate in daily network support tasks, including firewall and global/cloud operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using best practices and a systematic methodology.
  • Provide technical analysis and remediation during troubleshooting, ensuring documentation of activities.
  • Optimize network topologies for improved stability and functionality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to lead problem-solving efforts and contribute to system roadmaps.
  • Work closely with the security team to uphold best security practices.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with management via reports and updates.
  • Support incident and problem record documentation for daily network operations.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and products to continuously improve network performance.
