As part of the Matching/Allocation team, our mission is to continually improve the connection between drivers and passengers. We develop and refine dispatch algorithms while exploring innovative dispatching strategies. Our goal is to enhance the customer experience by ensuring prompt pickups and reducing waiting times.

Given the need for a highly scalable system that adapts dynamically to market conditions, we work closely with our Data Science Team and constantly review our Architecture.

Our efforts have a significant impact on both the customer experience and the overall success of the company.

YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:

• Architect and develop new matching algorithms by studying scientific research to help you find the best solution.
• Analyse performance data and improve existing matching algorithms.
• Own the Feature, Own the Code – feel responsible for what you create. This starts with bringing in your own feature ideas, writing Stories, owning the development and ends in testing and deploying your code.
• Actively monitor health and performance data of services, and alert for incidents.
• Ask ‘Why?’ and be prepared to be asked for your input and opinion.
• Close collaboration with the Data Science and Business Analytics team.
• Meet the team face-to-face twice a month at the Hamburg Office.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

• Few years software engineering experience in Kotlin or Java.
• Experience working on large scale distributed systems.
• Passionate about writing idiomatic and clean code.
• Keen about highly scalable web applications, such as RESTful API’s, dealing with transactions and resiliency.
• Keen to receive and give feedback in pairing and code review sessions.
• Good experience with relational databases.
• Experience with matching and dispatching algorithms is a plus.
