The Cyber Security Analyst Role monitors the day-to-day security operations of the in-place security

solutions and the identification, investigation, and resolution of Level 1 security breaches detected by

those systems. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security

solutions.

Reporting to the VP, IT Risk Management, the incumbent will be responsible for the duties outlined

below.

Primary Responsibilities

Level 1 Security Operations

• Monitor and report the severity of the vulnerability and the activities required to resolve Information Security issues.
• Assist Users with Security Incident and threat surveillance and mitigation
• Using various software security tools identify, investigate and communicate remediation activities to resolve information security issues and track outstanding remediation efforts to completion.
• Monitor and audit, user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Provide on-call support for end users for all in-place security solutions.
• Participate in deployment of new security solutions as required
• Coordinate security incident remediation with Tech Care and Infrastructure teams
  
  

Discreet Threat and Vulnerability Detection

• Deploying ethical testing routines from time to time to ensure threats are identified and mitigated
• Vulnerability Scanning and detection to escalate expedient remediation.
  
  

Required Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity and one to two years equivalent work experience
• One or more of the following, or similar, certifications are a plus: CompTIA Security+ CompTIA Network+ GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
• Knowledge of KQL Queries and Microsoft Security Tools such as Microsoft Defender or other AV or XDR tools
• Other security certifications will be an asset.
