Purpose Of The Job

A one-year contract for on-site work in the UAE or Saudi Arabia. The contractor should be available to visit the client's office in Dubai/Riyadh up to 5 times per week. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to advanced data analytics, machine learning model development, and data-driven decision-making for our client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning, along with experience in cloud platforms and big data technologies. With operations spanning from bauxite mining to alumina refining and aluminium smelting, they are a significant contributor to the UAE’s economy and a major player in the global aluminium industry. Main Tasks And Responsibilities

Obtain tasks from the project lead, prepares functional and design specifications, approves them with all stakeholders

Ensure that assigned area/areas are delivered within required quality objectives

Provide estimations and contributes to project plan of assigned area

Analyze scope of alternative solutions and makes decision about area implementation based on his/her experience and technical expertise

Address area-level risks, provides and implements mitigation plan

Report about area readiness/quality, and raises red flags in crisis situations which are beyond his/her AOR

Suggests technical and functional improvements to add value to the product

Education, Skills And Experience

MUST HAVE:

6+ years of experience in web development

Wide experience of React, Next.js and related technologies

Good knowledge of Node.js

Solid understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases

Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex software architectures

Experience integrating frontend and backend components efficiently

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Good communication skills for working with cross-functional teams

Would Be a Plus

Commercial experience with Kubernetes
